Personal Credit Reports
What is the difference between a “Credit Report” and a "Personal Credit Report"? Read on to learn more....
A “Credit Report” contains only the information typically seen by lenders or credit grantors.
A “Personal Credit Report” (or “Consumer Disclosure”) is a specific type of report that has all the information the credit repositories have in your credit file including everyone who has received a copy of your credit within the last two years. Generally, the format is detailed and in a format that is easily understood by the consumer.
As a New Hampshire consumer, you are entitled to a free copy of your Personal Credit Report every year. It’s important to look at your credit routinely because inaccurate information could cost you:
- A job
- The loss of an apartment
- More expensive insurance
- A higher interest rate when you finance a car and/or home
